This time, instead of adapting an in-progress book series with no end in sight, this new series is based on a low-budget 1973 sci-fi movie directed by Michael Crichton. Johnson (HBO))The series, created by Jonathan Nolan (Person of Interest, The Dark Knight Trilogy), centers on a futuristic theme park populated by androids, artificial intelligences, and regular humans. Rich patrons visit the park to live out their old west fantasies, whether sexual or violent. The show doesn’t premiere until Sunday, but HBO released these photos from the first episode for us to wildly speculate over. The cast is pretty stellar too, with Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden. So far, HBO is being pretty secretive when it comes to who is an android and who is not. That kind of drama sounds right up Nolan’s alley.James Marsden as Teddy Flood, a new arrival to Westworld. When does it stop being OK to let these beings be abused for the amusement of rich people?Ed Harris as The Man in Black, a gunslinger. (Credit: John P.
